What is
Reverse Osmosis
- Reverse osmosis is a method used in the treatment of unfiltered water whereby the water is forced under pressure through a semipermeable membrane resulting in a significant reduction of the total dissolved solids (TDS) in the water.
A STANDARD RO SYSTEM CONSISTS OF FIVE TO SIX STAGES THAT THE UNFLITERED WATER WILL GO THROUGH:
- First the water will pass through different filters consisting of different types of media to reduce contaminants in the water.
- The final 2 stages the filtered water will be forced under pressure through a membrane, 0.0001 of a micron.
- The final stage the RO water will then pass through a carbon filter ensuring no tastes and odours are left in the water.
- A 6th stage can be added, should you wish to replace minerals back into the water that got removed during the process.

STAGE 1
5 micron filter removes dust, dirt, rust and other sediment.
STAGE 2
GAC or granular activated carbon filter removes heavy metals, toxins and organic matter.
STAGE 3
Carbon block filter blocks chemicals such as chlorine and fluoride.
STAGE 4
Membrane blocks everything bigger than 0.0001 of a micron, such as bacteria and viruses.
STAGE 5
post carbon filter removes any remaining tastes and odours.
OPTIONAL STAGE 6
5 in 1 post mineral filter replaces minerals back into the water.
